Why is Castle Combe Perfect for Engagement Shoots?
Castle Combe looks like it has come straight out of a film set, but without feeling staged. The cobbled streets, stone cottages, and old bridge over the stream create a calm, timeless backdrop that photographs beautifully in any season. It has that natural charm that makes every image feel effortless and real.
The village is small, which means you can wander easily between spots without rushing. Every corner offers something different, from quiet lanes and ivy-covered walls to open views of the surrounding countryside. You can get a mix of cosy village shots and soft, natural scenery in one session.
It’s also peaceful, especially early in the morning or later in the day, so couples can relax and actually enjoy the experience. There’s no pressure to pose or perform. It’s about capturing genuine moments while exploring somewhere that feels a bit magical but still grounded and real.
For anyone after photos that feel romantic without being over the top, Castle Combe strikes that balance perfectly. It’s classic, calm, and full of character.
Glenn got in touch with me as he & his fiancée José, were on a holiday to Castle Coombe in Wiltshire for a few days, and wanted some beautiful couple photographs of them in this quintessential British town. It was a special place that José had wanted to visit for some time, so Glenn had arranged this as a special surprise for her, so sweet!

They absolutely smashed their couples photos; Castle Coombe is a busy area and they were so great at being photographed in the midst of the tourists, and leaning into all the prompts or ideas I suggested.
I loved José's enagament ring, So gorgeous! And the lush greenery everywhere made a fabulous backdrop for these midsummer couples photos. Here are some of their shoot highlights:

Aren't they the sweetest?! I adore photographing couples & engagement shoots! Get in touch below if you're looking for some couple photos of you and your partner.
I cover Wiltshire, Somerset and Devon easily for photography, and am open to all locations nationwide. I'll advise you on clothing, location and timings, and capture your love story. Charlotte, Engagement shoot Castle Combe Cotswolds
