Curtis & Carolyn loved the Cotswolds. From Canada, they travelled to this picturesque part of the UK to get married in a classic luxury English venue - Lucknam Park.
Having had their wedding breakfast the day before, their wedding day involved an intimate ceremony of just 10 (I do love intimate weddings). Their day was relaxed and full of activities: horse riding and gun shooting, and a picnic.
The horse riding was a special element to the day, and added a real fun dynamic to the traditional wedding activities.

Carolyn wore the most gorgeous gown sourced in Canada, paired with classic pearls. Her energy and joy were evident throughout the whole preparations of getting ready right up until the end of the activities.

Classic British weather meant we had incessant rain for half of the day, so our outside couple's photos were a little limited, but bold bride Carolyn had no problem running around in her dress in the rain, and so with our short time, I managed to capture some special moments against the striking trees in the large grounds.

Here's their full highlights:
Along with the digital, I managed to shoot a few 35mm analogue shots too:

Top Tips for Getting Married at Lucknam Park, Cotswolds
If you’re planning a luxury countryside wedding in the Cotswolds, Lucknam Park is hard to beat. This elegant 18th-century manor offers everything from grand interiors to peaceful gardens and world-class dining. It’s the perfect mix of sophistication and calm, surrounded by 500 acres of parkland. To help you make the most of it, here are some top tips for planning your day at this beautiful venue.
1. Book the venue early. Lucknam Park offers exclusive-use weddings, giving you full access to the house, grounds, and all guest rooms. Because of its popularity, it’s best to book as early as possible. Securing your date early also gives you more flexibility with room layouts, timings, and guest accommodation.
2. Visit ahead with your suppliers. Bring your florist, photographer, and caterer for a walk-through before the big day. Seeing the spaces in person helps them understand lighting, flow, and setup options, ensuring everything runs smoothly on the day.
3. Decide between indoor and outdoor ceremonies. Lucknam Park offers both indoor rooms, such as the Music Room and Walmesley Room, and outdoor options in the gardens. Each has its own atmosphere, so choose what suits your guest numbers and overall style best. Always have a weather plan, especially if you’re dreaming of an outdoor ceremony.
4. Make the most of the gardens for photos. The rose and lavender gardens, tree-lined paths, and formal lawns are perfect for portraits. Allow a little time between your ceremony and reception for photos so you can explore without feeling rushed. The light in the early evening is particularly beautiful across the grounds.
5. Keep styling simple. Lucknam Park is full of elegant period features, from carved wood panelling to grand fireplaces. You don’t need to over-decorate. Keep your styling soft and refined with simple florals, warm lighting, and neutral tones that complement the natural beauty of the venue.
6. Plan guest accommodation early. With 42 bedrooms and suites on site, many guests can stay overnight. Encourage them to book early, especially if you’re hosting over a weekend. Having everyone in one place makes the day flow easily and keeps the atmosphere relaxed.
7. Focus on the food experience. Lucknam Park is known for its exceptional dining. Arrange a tasting in advance and work with the chefs to create a menu that reflects your taste. Using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients will make the meal memorable for you and your guests.
8. Add a personal touch. One of the most unique features of Lucknam Park is the chance to plant a tree in the arboretum to commemorate your wedding. It’s a meaningful way to mark the day and leave a lasting connection to the venue.
9. Consider timing and access. The estate is large, so factor in walking times between locations. Let guests know about accessible routes or provide transport for anyone who may find the distance tricky. A little planning helps the day feel seamless.
10. Enjoy the extras. Lucknam Park has a luxury spa, equestrian centre, and beautiful walking trails. Consider making a weekend of it by hosting a relaxed dinner the night before or a brunch the next morning. It’s a lovely way to spend more time with family and friends and enjoy everything the estate has to offer.
Final thought. Lucknam Park is a venue that offers elegance, tranquillity, and complete flexibility. With thoughtful planning, you can create a wedding that feels both luxurious and relaxed, surrounded by some of the most stunning scenery in the Cotswolds.
